Yoga Therapy is a therapeutic approach to health and wellness that looks at the person as a whole. It does not include diagnosis of, touching, fixing, or changing a person.

Therapeutic yoga is comprised of different offerings based on training and education from an array of subjects including anatomy, psychology, autoimmune disorders, physical conditions, nervous system regulation, asana, meditation, yoga philosophy, and ayurvedic principles.

The aim of Therapeutic Yoga is to help a person find more ease, comfort, peace and relaxation regardless of where they are in their healing or terminal state.

Yoga Therapy is for anyone at anytime and my training has been to provide specific offerings through tailored asana, meditation, breath work, and self study to those living with conditions that could require some additional attention, support, care, and safety. For example;

  • Scoliosis, kyphosis, lordosis, herniated discs, sciatica, piriformis, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, hip replacement recovery, knee replacement recovery, shoulder dislocation recovery, rib dislocation recovery, sports injury recovery (post care for broken bones, sprains, and tears), pelvic floor difficulties, back pain, SI joint discomfort, Spinal Stenosis, Isthmic Spondylolisthesis, and restricted breathing.

  • Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s Diseases, Multiple Sclerosis, hearing loss, stroke recovery, high blood pressure

  • Chronic pain, Anxiety, PTSD, Depression, Bi-Polar I and II, Schizophrenia, Schizoaffective disorder, burnout, eating disorders, autoimmune disease, migraines, chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, Autism, ADD/ADHD, BPD, Cancer, Fibromyalgia, Stress, Trauma, and Insomnia.

The beautiful thing about therapeutic yoga is that it provides an approach to healing that addresses all aspects of a person and offers resources for physical, energetic, emotional, mental, and spiritual wellbeing. There is no right way of ‘doing’ therapeutic yoga, you are simply enough and practicing by being present with yourself.

Sessions can be done in person or online from the comfort of your own home with the use of any helpful props such as yoga blocks (books), bolsters (couch cushions or pillows), blankets, eye pillows, yoga straps (scarfs/ exercise bands), chairs, couch, wall, and/or countertop.

There is no need for the ‘perfect’ set-up. Individually tailored sessions and programs may incorporate specifically chosen asana based on an individual’s needs, specific breathing techniques, selected mudras ( hand postures), tailored meditation technique, constructive rest, and a personalized home care protocol to do between sessions.

For the safety of clients, all sessions do begin with a required intake form and consent form sent to me at least 48 hrs before a scheduled session. There is a minimum of 24 hrs notice for cancellations.

What brought me to therapeutic yoga and how does it differ from a yoga class?

 With a background in ecological restoration, I've enjoyed learning lessons from nature and putting them into practice in my day-to-day life. My favorite spots to be are on the mountain or out on the ocean and I love working with individuals who are wanting to tap into the magic in their life and feel more connected with themselves and nature. I began practicing yoga as a teen and became dedicated to my personal practice in studios during my early twenties to aid in my healing journey while recovering from physical injuries and autoimmune symptoms that limited my ability to participate in the activities that I loved the most. Yoga brought me back to myself and it led me to follow my heart in all aspects of life. In 2019, I decided that I wanted to share this part of myself and what I've learned with others who were seeking to heal, love, and grow. As of June 2022, I hold 300 HR Foundations of Yoga Therapy certification along with RYT 500 HR and am enrolled in the advanced program and on my way to becoming C-IAYT certified as a Yoga Therapist. At this point in time, I offer dedicated and individually tailored therapeutic yoga sessions, however, they cannot be claimed with health benefit programs.

I enjoy supporting others along their personal journey home to their own body, soul, and natural state of being. By incorporating elemental components from nature, breathwork, and movement; I believe individuals can find balance and healing while cultivating a beautiful self-love and resilience from within. By honoring the body, mind, and spirit, life moves with ease.

Trained in energetic assessments, breathwork, meditation, and yoga, I provide clients with offerings through one-on-one therapeutic yoga sessions personally tailored to each individual's specific need. Creating a space for individuals to connect with themselves and empower them with an array of tools to aid with healing, tranquility within, and body awareness for balance in all areas of life.

Therapeutic yoga intake sessions can also be done outside in a nature, which is a fun, zero pressure way for me to build a client relationship and understand their specific needs.
